FAQ's

Where are you??
I am working from Twisted Chapel, a private studio in Northampton, about a 5 minute drive from the town center. Northampton is under 3 hours drive from the majority of the UK

What time should I arrive?

At your appointment time. If you are more than 5 minutes early, please wait until then as I have lots to do prior to your arrival as well as scheduling in my own breaks. There are plenty of places to grab a coffee nearby

What if I'm late?
If you are going to be more than 10 minutes late, please let me know as soon as possible. If you are more than 20 minutes late, your appointment and booking fee will be forfeited and a new one will be required to rebook.

Where shall I park?
The two roads that lead up from the shop (Harborough & Boughton Green) have free pn Street parking. There is also a Ringo carpark next door if you'd prefer.

Can I bring my friend?
In the nicest way I can say it...Pls no. We don't mind people coming with you or popping in at the start/end, but, they will have to find a way to entertain themselves or somewhere else to hang out during the tattoo time. The studio is small and private so we ask you to be considerate of other customers and the space.

Are there refreshments or shall I bring lunch?
We have sugary drinks, water, sweets and lollies in the shop for you to help yourself too. You're welcome to bring your own lunch/food as long as it's kept out of the tattooing area (a drink and snack are allowed).

Omg what should I wear??
Something that's comfy, not too tight, allows the full area being tattooed to be uncovered and that you don't mind risking getting ink on (you'll be very lucky to get it out)
Lower leg? Shorts or skirt, not skinny jeans
Upper arm? Sleeveless top or vest
Back? A shirt or hoody you can put on backwards
If you are unsure, please ask when enquiring, I'm always happy to discuss ways to make the session easier
It's also worth thinking about what to wear in the immediate days after. Nothing that will rub on the area or irritate your skin any further.

What about that night/the day after?
Please, please, PLEASE consider your plans after your tattoo. No strenuous exercise, hot tubs, excessive drinking, hiking, big days out, the list goes on. The easiest way to think about it is... Would I do this with a big open wound on my body in any other circumstance?
Please do not book your tattoo unless you can properly care for it in the following days.

Can I do anything else to prep for a tattoo?
Yes, you can and thanks for asking. For your skin, you can gently exfoliate and moisturise the area if you don't already as well as drinking plenty of water in the lead up to your appointment. This helps unbelivable amounts with the tattoo process. The healthier you and your skin are, the easier it will take the ink and cope with the trauma

Help! I have an injury on the area I'm getting tattooed...
We cannot tattoo over scratches, scabs, bites or any kind of wound so please be careful and if you do sustain an injury on the area, let me know as soon as possible so we can either move the location of the tattoo or reschedule your appointment

I need to move my appointment?
Please let me know via email as soon as possible. Unfortunately booking fees only count towards one appointment and due to the current climate, a new one will be needed for any cancellations or reschedules.

What aftercare methods do you use?/Do you sell aftercare?
My preferred method is using second skin to heal a tattoo. This reduces the risk of infection massively and has proven to be a really effective way of healing. However, I also use the cling film wet healing method for anyone who doesn't get on with second skin. I have extensive leaflets with all the information on both methods.
We sell pots of Hustle Butter in the shop for £5 each and have second skin products to suit both large and small pieces.
